MyNewJobHunter.com has three people behind it.
- David Perry
- Anita Martel and
- Dave Watson
The three have all been friendly for years because Dave’s brother Kevin Watson was David Perry’s best friend.
Along time ago, in a distant universe, David and Kevin worked on multiple projects together including the first job board in Canada which launched about 5 days after Monster Board did back in 1998.
If you have children or you’re actually young enough to remember “Pinky & The Brain” let that be your visual. While David was writing Guerrilla Marketing for Job Hunters people often asked about the inspiration for some of the strategies and tactics. Well… that’s an easy one. While not terribly inspiring by David’s standards, Kevin was the perfect ‘lab rat’ to try things out. And that they did.
Now, many more ‘experiments’ actually failed than passed, but a lot did work and the best of them like: Networking with the Newly Departed, The Starbucks Coffee Cup Caper, and The Email Chain Letter... often made it into one chapter or another of the book. In fact, there are more tried and true tactics where Kevin was the first to use it successfully – than not.
Kevin also contributed two pieces for inclusion in the 2.0 and 3.0 versions of Guerrilla Marketing for Job Hunters.
Nicknamed the ‘Rogue Recruiter’ by The Wall Street Journal, David teaches companies not only how to hire the right executives (and keep them), but also candidates, on how to make business decisions that will shape their careers. This plurality of headhunter, author, and coach delivers, a balanced perspective which leads to longer tenure because of better fit.
A well-known name in executive search, with 30+ years of experience, David has personally closed more than 1100 searches with a near perfect success rate, negotiating in excess of $400M in salaries. His creative recruiting principles led the Wall Street Journal to nickname him the ‘Rogue Recruiter’
He’s author/co-authored eight books on executive recruiting and job search including: Guerrilla Marketing for Job Hunters 3.0, Hiring Greatness: How to Recruit Your Dream Team and Crush the Competition (WILEY:2016) and Executive Recruiting for Dummies. (DUMMIES:2017)
